As a Biotechnology Engineer at United Algorithmics, you will work on projects that sit at the boundary of biology and engineering — applying quantitative methods, automation, and AI to accelerate discovery and development in the life sciences. You will operate inside our Research and Innovation Lab with significant autonomy and access to cross-disciplinary collaborators.
Responsibilities
- Design and execute experimental workflows in areas such as synthetic biology, genomics, or bioprocess engineering
- Build computational tools and pipelines to analyse biological data at scale
- Collaborate with AI researchers to apply machine learning to biological prediction and design problems
- Develop and optimise laboratory automation systems and protocols
- Translate findings into documented processes and, where applicable, into applied products within the Unialg portfolio
Requirements
- Degree in bioengineering, biochemistry, computational biology, or a closely related field
- Hands-on laboratory experience alongside strong quantitative and programming skills (Python preferred)
- Familiarity with bioinformatics tooling, sequencing data, or bioprocess modelling
- Experience applying data science or machine learning methods to biological problems is highly valued
- Ability to work fluidly between wet lab and computational environments
